Five Great Projects in Klassy Kitchen

Our Klassy Kitchen pattern offers five projects that are such great gift ideas. Techniques shown in the pattern are well illustrated and easy to make. The apron shown below would work well for a hostess gift. The pocket adds tons of accent. The whole apron maybe takes an hour to make.

Handmade place mats, especially for wedding gifts, is always well received. You could add some glassware, silverware, or even some dishes to go with the placemats.

One of Vanilla House's favorite gifts is a mixing bowl, oven mitt, and a gift bag containing Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix. Who wouldn't want that?!

Gift Bag with Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix inside. Printable bag topper included.

Last but not least, coordinating an organizational accessory like the Pocket Hangers is always a big hit!

Coordinate your Klassy Kitchen -- spectacular in every way!

Yet another type of applique........!

This final spring release pattern has yet another type of applique. And I love this concept -- it has so much potential. I originally came up with this concept when making my 'Fabric Bling' series of fabric jewelry. [Btw, I will admit the fabric jewelry line didn't go so well   -- too much competition in the jewelry world for SURE! ..... sad, because some of the jewelry pieces are amazing!].
Anyway, this applique concept is used to make pockets on place mats ...... using our spring theme of 'critters'. So cute! You make the critter face by making the 'whole applique' so to speak, complete with finished edges, independent of the place mat. Then attach it to the place mat just like you would any other independent embroidered applique, except attaching it only around the bottom edge so it makes a pocket for a napkin or silverware. Cool!

It's out! One fall pattern --- "The Place Setting"!

So most of the time I take a bit of a break in the fall on pattern releases. This fall has NOT been different from my usual slacker routine!
But I have released one called "The Place Setting"! I pretty much love these beautiful place mats. The backing fabric is made first, with the edges folded in a certain way to bring to the front to make the border or "window frame" for the front panel to be inserted into. Okay, I know that is confusing -- just buy the pattern  -- it will make more sense.
To fluff up the pattern, we added the flower embellishment, the fabric napkin, which is made the same window frame way, and three sizes of bread baskets! Which are pretty cute!

Three sizes of bread baskets, 7" - 8" and 9"!

Next week, I will post the two other fabric options. So interesting to see how much fabric influences the whole style and feeling of a project.

My latest project for P215!

'The Place Setting' is getting pretty close to publishing. Here's the three fabric sets I am going to use. 'The Place Setting' features a place mat, fabric napkin with napkin ring, and three sizes of bread baskets. Pretty soon I will post the finished items. The place mats and fabric napkins are featured -- they are made beautifully. Can't wait to show!
